10/1/2009 - New Director for 2009/2010 Year
Rachel has decided to become the Jr. Vikings new Director. Julie will be helping behind the scenes in an advisory position. Stef will be helping as an assistant coach as needed. Lisa is back as the Asst. Director, and Mandy is back coaching the 11's. We have new 14's coach, Taryn Volbrecht, who is the new Varsity head coach at WLHS. Welcome Taryn! Jessica Alex will be the 13s coach. Welcome Jessica.
10/1/2009 - FACTS about Junior Vikings
FACTS about Junior Vikings and answers to some questions you may have about our club....
Our teams generally do very well in tournament play, making it to the Gold bracket quite often, and then the Championship round. Our 14 Blue Team and 12 Blue team took second place last season at the Badger Region Championships!
We give everyone on the team a chance to play at every tournament. Amount of playing time does of course depend on team commitment...practice attendance etc.
Even though our club only goes up to 14's, our players have had no problem making another club team when they are 15. We have a very good reputation, and other clubs know our players are well coached. Also, as far as we know, ALL of our players have made their high school teams.
Nationals...we have not participated in any qualifiers to date. We leave it up to each individual team. If a team wants to discuss going, we will have a meeting and take a vote.
