About Jr. Viking Volleyball!
The Junior Viking Volleyball Club is a member of the Badger Region, which exists to encourage young, female athletes in the sport of volleyball, and to use their God-given talents both on and off the court. Our goal is to offer a program to girls ages 10-14, which is competitive, high quality, and reasonably priced. We strive to teach strong volleyball skills and fundamentals. We have a group of committed coaches who are dedicated to the enrichment of our athletes as individuals and teammates.
Practices are generally two times per week. Wednesday evenings, and Saturday or Sunday. They are held at either Christ the Lord Lutheran School in Brookfield, Star of Bethlehem Lutheran School in New Berlin, or at times Wisconsin Lutheran High School. The 11 and under team(s) practice once a week, usually Saturday afternoons at Star of Bethelehem, they also will have some occasional Sunday afternoon practices.
We are very proud of our coaching staff. They have all been personally selected and are highly qualified individuals who love the sport of volleyball and teaching it to children. They are all IMPACT certified. Their goal is to teach each member of their team to become a better volleyball player, and to work together as a team. Everyone on the team is important. Everyone will play, and you will see an improvement in their play. We also want the girls to have fun, while they are learning.
Our cost is $250 for 11 and under, $400 for 12's, and $450 for 13's and 14's; this includes two uniform tops, (one for 11's) shorts, Badger Region fees, tournament fees, gym use, and coaches stipends. We try to keep our tournaments in the area. Sometimes travel will be about 1-1/2 hours drive, but no hotel costs are involved. (If we decide to do an overnite tournament, it will be discussed first.) Most of our tournaments are one day, with the exception of the Badger Region Championships, which is 2-day, but takes place in Milwaukee. We plan to enter about seven or eight tournaments per team for the 12's, 13's and 14's, and one or two for the 11 and under toward the end of the season. The season runs from early December thru March or April.
We are a non-profit organization.
